MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra

Aluminium 60% gaming keyboard with magnetic keys, wired or wireless

Pros

  • RTINGS's pick for the best budget wireless magnetic gaming keyboard, with performance close to Wooting's flagships
  • Solid aluminium case, which is rare at this price
  • 8,000 Hz polling over both the cable and the 2.4 GHz dongle
  • Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation, SOCD and DKS, set in a web or desktop app
  • The TMR version also takes ordinary mechanical switches

Cons

  • The "from" price is a wired version: wireless starts at $100 on this listing, and the TMR version RTINGS tested costs $140
  • Short battery life at 8,000 Hz: Notebookcheck got about 3 hours over the dongle with the lights on, and PCGamesN also calls it poor
  • The wireless mode switch hides under the Caps Lock keycap
  • 60% layout, with no arrow keys, function row or numpad; RTINGS also finds the mount a bit stiff

Details and specs

The MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra is a small gaming keyboard with magnetic switches in an aluminium case. Each key senses how far it’s pressed, so you set where a press counts and can use Rapid Trigger, which resets a key as soon as you start to lift it. RTINGS names it the best budget wireless magnetic gaming keyboard and measured performance that nearly matches Wooting’s much pricier boards. PCGamesN and Notebookcheck also rate it highly. MonsGeek is a brand of Akko, which runs the AliExpress store.

It comes wired-only or tri-mode (cable, 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth), and with Hall effect or TMR sensors. The TMR version, which RTINGS tested, also takes standard mechanical switches. Wireless costs more, and the battery runs down fast because the dongle always polls at 8,000 Hz: Notebookcheck got about 3 hours with the lights on, and PCGamesN up to about 5 with them off. Bluetooth lasts longer. The switch between wireless modes sits under the Caps Lock keycap, so you need the keycap puller to reach it.

  • 60% layout, ANSI
  • Aluminium case and plate, tray mount
