MOONDROP Harmon

Triple dynamic driver earphones with isobaric sub-bass and glass-dome treble

Pros

  • Unique 3-dynamic-driver setup pairs isobaric dual sub-woofers with a glass-dome mid-treble driver
  • Horizontally opposed dual 10 mm dynamic driver module (H.O.D.D.D.U.S.) yields tight, physical sub-bass
  • Coaxial four-cavity acoustic architecture provides precise mechanical crossover division
  • High-precision medical resin cavities crafted with HeyGears and faceted CNC metal faceplates
  • Modular silver-plated cable includes interchangeable 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm balanced plugs
  • Engaging, dynamic acoustic presentation with expansive soundstage and ultra-low distortion (≤0.1%)

Cons

  • Higher-tier $350 price tag sits above entry-level Chi-Fi brackets
  • Chunky multi-cavity acoustic housings can feel substantial in smaller ears
  • Engaging U-shaped tuning diverges from Moondrop's traditional neutral VDSF reference target

Details and specs

The MOONDROP Harmon (styled HARMON XTM-3DD) is a high-performance in-ear monitor from Moondrop featuring a rare all-dynamic three-driver (3DD) architecture. Built around a coaxial four-cavity acoustic structure, the Harmon dedicates two specialized 10 mm paper-cone composite diaphragm dynamic drivers to sub-bass duties using Moondrop’s proprietary H.O.D.D.D.U.S. (Horizontally Opposed Dual Dynamic Driver Unit System) isobaric setup. Mid and high frequencies are reproduced by a separate 10 mm dynamic driver equipped with an ultra-rigid glass-dome composite diaphragm, delivering rapid acoustic transients, high-frequency air, and remarkably low distortion (≤0.1%).

Departing from strictly neutral VDSF curves, the Harmon is tuned for an engaging, dynamic U-shaped presentation. The isobaric sub-bass engine produces tight, tactile impact with authentic physical weight, while the glass-dome driver renders female vocals, brass, and cymbals with transparent separation and spatial depth. Each shell is manufactured using high-precision 3D printing in collaboration with HeyGears, finished with faceted CNC-machined metal faceplates inspired by geometric origami. The Harmon includes a modular silver-plated copper cable with interchangeable 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced termination plugs.

  • Triple dynamic driver configuration: 2x 10 mm paper-cone bass drivers (H.O.D.D.D.U.S.) + 1x 10 mm glass-dome mid-treble driver
  • Coaxial four-cavity frequency crossover acoustic structure
  • Frequency response 10 Hz to 60,000 Hz (effective 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz)
  • Impedance 19 Ω ± 15% (@ 1 kHz), sensitivity 114 dB/Vrms (@ 1 kHz)
  • Total harmonic distortion (THD) ≤ 0.1% (@ 1 kHz, 94 dB)
  • High-precision 3D-printed medical resin shell with faceted CNC-machined metal faceplates
  • Detachable 0.78 mm 2-pin modular silver-plated cable with swappable 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm plugs
  • Bundled leatherette storage case and assorted silicone ear tips
  • Released early 2025
