Details and specs
The MOONDROP Dark Saber (also written DarkSaber) is Moondrop’s flagship hybrid in-ear monitor, packing ten acoustic drivers into each earpiece: two 10 mm dynamic drivers arranged in a horizontally opposed dual dynamic driver module (H.O.D.D.U.S.) for the sub-bass, four custom balanced armatures for the midrange, and four Knowles SWFK balanced armatures handling the high and ultra-high frequencies.
Audiophile reviewers highlight its flagship-tier resolution, precise spatial imaging, and nuanced texture across intricate recordings. The opposed dual-driver bass setup delivers deep, physical rumble that stops on a dime, keeping the midrange neutral and articulate. Each shell combines a high-precision medical-grade 3D-printed resin acoustic cavity with handcrafted aerospace-grade forged carbon fiber faceplates, paired with a modular silver-plated copper cable with interchangeable plugs.
- 10-driver hybrid configuration: 2 dynamic drivers (10 mm H.O.D.D.U.S.) + 8 balanced armatures (4 custom mid BAs + 4 Knowles SWFK treble BAs)
- Impedance 22 Ω (±15% @ 1 kHz), sensitivity 128 dB/Vrms (@ 1 kHz)
- Frequency response 7 Hz to 41 kHz (effective 20 Hz to 20 kHz)
- Handcrafted forged carbon fiber faceplates with medical-grade resin acoustic chamber
- Detachable 0.78 mm 2-pin modular silver-plated copper cable with swappable 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm plugs
- High sensitivity makes it easy to power, but pairs best with a low-noise source
- Released late 2023
