chi-fi is a shortlist, not a database. Here is what goes into a pick and what does not.

## Where picks come from

Each gadget is chosen by reading published reviews and measurements, comparing specifications, and following what owners say in community discussions. A product makes the list when those sources broadly agree it is good for the money.

## What we do not do

- **We do not test the gadgets ourselves.** Every page is research summarised, never a personal review.
- **We do not give scores or star ratings.** A number would suggest a measurement we have not made.
- **We do not show live prices.** Prices are rounded “from” prices in US dollars. The AliExpress price depends on the seller, version, shipping and coupons.

## What a product page tells you

- A one-line gist of what the gadget is.
- The “from” price.
- Pros and cons in plain language, including the trade-offs.
- A short description with the main specifications.
- A link to buy it on AliExpress.

## Budget

The budget control on the home page and the category pages dims every pick priced above the amount you choose, so you can see what fits at $25, $50 or $100.

## Links and money

Buy links are affiliate links, so chi-fi may earn a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. A pick with no working buy link is kept off the shelves. See [About](https://chi-fi.top/about) for more.
